Statement on Ukraine

It is with great sadness and deep concern that we watch the unfolding of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.  We express solidarity with the people of Ukraine and with the Ukrainian community in Ireland. We welcome the news that visa requirements for all Ukrainian citizens entering Ireland will be waived, and note the advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs to all Irish citizens currently in Ukraine to shelter in a secure place and consider leaving Ukraine if they judge it is safe to do so in their circumstances.  We also note that the Department of Foreign Affairs have established a dedicated telephone line for emergency assistance for Irish citizens in Ukraine (+ 353 1 6131700).

Crosscare Information and Advocacy Service (incl. Crosscare Migrant Project, Crosscare Refugee Service, and Crosscare Housing and Welfare Information) remains open and available for information and advice, including information on visa waiver arrangements once further details are available. We continue to work closely with Irish Consular Services to provide any support we can to Irish people and their Ukrainian family members returning from Ukraine who are in need of emergency support upon return.
